My name is MELISSA. I’ve been inspired by my friends and by literature to make a huge lifestyle change and try out a plant-based diet. This blog is my way of venting about the challenges but mostly about celebrating a healthier lifestyle. I’m looking forward to learning and experimenting and feeling better. I’m not doing this for glamour. I’m not planning to preach to the world about healthier living. I love chicken wings and pork chops and pizza–I LOVE to eat. But I love myself more so I better take good care of myself. There is nothing more satisfying than ending a day knowing that I made healthier choices versus the guilt and heaviness that I feel after indulging in junk. I hope you enjoy Turning VEGANese. CHRISTIE is my good friend and vegan extraordinaire. The photos of homemade vegan dishes that she posts on her Facebook page really inspire me. I’ve asked her to contribute because I want others to be inspired and educated by her. I used to perceive a vegan diet as being challenging and boring. Christie opened my eyes to the fun, creativity, and absolute doable-ness of it. To top it off, she’s super smart AND she’s pretty. A tiny part of me wants to be vegan so that Christie will think I’m cool. Don’t tell her I said that, okay? Christie resides in a sunny place with palm trees and likes to plank furniture in her spare time. To learn more about her, click here!
BRENT is my friend and Christie’s lovah. He is also a loyal vegan as well as a smarty-pants. No, wait. He’s a genius-pants. But he doesn’t always wear pants (see photo). I’m so excited that Brent is contributing to the blog! Not only has he come up with his own vegan recipes, he’s also one clever dude. I’m really looking forward to learning from him. It is also nice to have a dose of testosterone on the blog. Veganism: it’s not just for the ladies. Brent lives in a place that rhymes with Shmortpland and plays the drums. Guys, between Brent and Christie, my intelligent-and-good-looking friend quota has been filled! I’m so lucky!

Ooh la la! Happy I stumbled on to your page. Lots of good, fun, informational posts! Plus, you’re in Miami (another local!) It’s rough being veg in this town i’d say. I’m not vegan but I’m considering at least easing partly into it (at least a few days a week). I’ve been vegetarian for over 12 years though, vegan on and off a few times. Really lovely blog I like the mix between recipes and information on being vegan! I’m not vegan (Im vegetarian) but I mostly eat vegan foods anyway as I like the health benefits and the variation in food! Also I LOVE your blog name it made me laugh its so fun! x
